PAPER SS16 muses on artists holidaying on the French Riviera in the 1940s. Gala & Salvador Dali and Yves Klein inspire the Cantaloupe-melon stripes in bold silhouettes, the Klein-blue and Tangerine coloured silks in billowing shapes and the Indigo-wave knitted intarsias.
Signature PAPER cocoon & trapeze shapes feature in bright white fresh cottons and structured silks. Flirtatious off the shoulder summer pieces also flow in bold PAPER coloured silks. A strong and concise pallette mixed with fresh new lightweight summer fabrics create a bold and beautiful summer collection.
The former knitwear designer for Temperley London, Kelly Townsend has cemented her status as one-to-watch in the five short years since launching her label in 2011. Clean, sharp silhouettes and graphic texture plays define her modern staples. This spring, Townsend veers away from trademark knitwear and offers lighter options, including off-the-shoulder cotton blouses, high-waisted silk culottes, and asymmetrical column gowns.
Townsend’s eye for color shines with a series of cobalt pieces that will convert even those most devout black worshippers. Among them a phenomenal off-the-shoulder jumpsuit and a subtly oversized trench coat that oozes cool nonchalance.
