In AW15 Nicola Formichetti debuted the first full ready-to-wear collection from his Nicopanda range. Referencing Formichetti’s Japanese-Italian heritage, plus his live work in New York and London, this collection is a true cross-cultural fusion channeling Lolita’s of Japan, British Punk and the raw New York street style.
Yesterday, Nicopanda did a presentation at a Financial District members' club. The infectious energy of high-kitsch cum downtown-grit style is undeniable.
With a full range of unisex pieces, this is definitely a collection for the untraditional audience.
"Mr. Formichetti, the former stylist for Lady Gaga and the current creative director of Diesel, is the rare behind-the-scenes stylist who speaks directly to the fashion-obsessed. They come when he calls." - The New York Times
In attendance, was of course Lady Gaga who tweeted "Thanku NICOPANDA for this look from the new collection for the day. When you turn a shirt into a dress."
