A whodunnit murder mystery? Yes, that's right. That was the inspiration behind Hussein Chalayan's Fall/Winter 2015 fashion show, which bowed at Paris Fashion Week last week. More specifically, it was an ode to Agatha Christie, whose whodunnit mystery Murder on the Orient Express was the inspiration behind the collection. This was all evident through design clues in the collection; a slashed sleeve here, an incognito print there, a luxurious faux fur here, a sleuth black look perfect for slipping away into the night there. It was all utterly luxurious and utterly sophisticated. The clothes themselves were a story in textures; the furs Chalayan sourced, though faux, were sumptuous, while the wools were soft and rich. It was a resounding success, with A-list stars such as Susie Bubble, Diane Perenet and Leigh Lezark (all sitting front-row) all showing up in support of Chalayan's beautiful designs. Though seemingly conceptual, the collection was peppered with simpler, sleek pieces that we could easily see becoming wardrobe classics. All in all, another thoroughly successful season for Mr. Chalayan!
