The Electric sekki. team has been hard at work at Paris Fashion Week this week, but of course we stopped by the Chalayan show this morning at the historic Palais des Beaux Arts to see what the talented Hussein had in store for us next season. Before the models came out, we managed to get a cheeky little look backstage at this well-oiled machine. Each year, the Chalayan show grows larger and larger: more looks, more space, more guests. This year was no different. We spotted mega blogger Susie Bubble, top fashion journalist Diane Pernet, Net-A-Porter founder Natalie Massenet and DJ/model Leigh Lezark in the front row, to name just a few. Backstage, Hussein's excited, jovial energy was infectious. While the hair was paired back and 'fuss-free' with a middle-parting and a light natural texture, the make-up added a touch of edge and drama through the use of blue eyeshadow and eyeliner, keeping the rest of the face clean. And on to the most important component of all: the clothes. Hussein explored texture this season through the use of faux fur, pailettes, jacquards and embroidery. Though these things may seemingly sound like a motley bunch, together they brought a whole new dimension to Chalayan's clothing. Check out our sneaky backstage video below and make sure to come back soon for more coverage of the show.
