Nothing kick start the summer holiday better than a fun day at the beach. If you are in Shanghai or will be around on Saturday, July 12, then you're in luck because Havaianas will be throwing their annual beach party at The Bund Beach! We heard that there will be a series of live performances (no Havaianas party is complete without Brazilian music and dancers, right?!), fun beach games, and a line up of delicious food and beverage vendors on site throughout the day.
Pack your sunnies, bikinis, and havies and get in the summer groove!

With the 2014 World Cup in full swing, Brazil is enjoying a lot of attention hence, it only makes sense that we dedicate this week's spotlight to Virzi + De Luca, a Brazilian jewellery label created by design duo, Marcella Virzi and Betina De Luca.
Currently stocked by leading fashion retailer such as Net-A-Porter, Harvey Nichols, and 10 Corso Como, Virzi + De Luca have in less than 2 years, transformed itself from a new label to watch into a brand everyone (style icon such as Kate Moss and Lady Gaga included) wants to get their hands on! On our recent trip to Brazil, we had the honor to meet with Betina De Luca to find out more about her highly successful jewellery line that has taken the fashion world by storm.
It was love at first sight with the beautiful red enamel coated Octopus bracelet that wrapped around Betina's wrist the day we met in Sao Paulo. A statement piece to say the least; it's not everyday that one would expect to see a red octopus leg adorning a person's arm and in such fashionable and stylish manner. "It is my favourite piece from the collection as it is very much the representation of our way of thought. The fun, sexy, and interesting design is meant to seduce the eye with a smile," said Betina of its coveted design and it certainly did the trick on us.
Inspired by the underwater world of Tahiti - think crabs, lobsters, octopuses - its Spring 14 collection consists of a range of extremely wearable statement pieces such as a beautiful gold-plated lobster earrings and gold-plated coral bracelet with an enameled crab. What we love is how the designs while very literally portray the marine life that inspired the collection, exudes a unique yet subtle sensibility that makes them extremely endearing (without being too cute) and stylish (without trying too hard). How's that for a recipe for success?
With a strong focus on surrealism and fantasy, Virzi + De Luca's next collection is inspired by a love story between a mermaid and an Indian boy from the Tupi tribe. Apart from the more literal design like the Mermaid Tail Ring and Bracelet (which we love!), there are also pieces that reflect a more surrealism take on the theme as seen in the more sculptural designs featuring motifs of the Mermaid's lips and eyes.
A clear reflection of its Brazilian heritage, bold vibrant colors is a prominent element in their designs. "We plan to keep using color to express our sense of "carioquice", fun and the mood of our happy, sexy people." said Betina, adding that while colors will be a mainstay of their creations, their love for gold cannot be denied as they foil and bathe their pieces in 15 micrograms of this precious metal.
"There is no sensuality as attractive and as powerful as a woman having fun!" said Betina on her style motto and we cannot agree more!

Matt Abergel and Lindsay Jang, the masterminds behind 2 of Hong Kong's most popular dining spots Yardbird and RONIN, seems to know exactly what's missing in the food scene. Adding a third venture to their portfolio last month with the opening of Sunday's Grocery, a liquor store slash convenience store slash take-away sandwich shop that has quickly become a must-try for enthusiastic foodies as well as a new go-to for locals living in Kennedy Town.
If you have not had a chance to make your way out to K-Town to try their killer made-to-order sandwiches (chicken schnitzel/mushroom & cheese/falafel/chicken katsu), the good news is that Sunday's Grocery can now come to you as they have just announced the launch of their delivery service.
Sunday's Grocery boasts a selection of Japanese whiskeys, sake, shochu, mescal, wine and beer on tap. In terms of food, apart from the made-to-order sandwiches that we love, their menu also offer delicious salads, soups and simple side dishes like veggie sticks and pickles. For those who are into detoxifying rather than re-toxifying, there's also a selection of nutritious cold-pressed juices by Be-Juiced on offer.
They are accepting orders for large group catering (think junk boats, road trips, beach party, etc) so forget about having to coordinate and make multiple stops to stock up on booze and food for your next summer party, Sunday's Grocery seems to have everything you need!

If you have been following us, you know that we are a fan of Australian designer label Ellery and we are very excited about the latest Resort 2015 collection which stays true to the designer's love for distinct silhouettes while keeping wearability in mind.
Striking a balance between structure and movement, the collection brings together unabashedly voluminous designs in the form of a ruffled hem top, billowing dresses and bell-sleeve blouses as well as distinctly shaped pieces such as the tailored tops, pencil skirts and flared pants with a closer fit to the body.
The otherwise simple and monochromatic black, white a blue palette is punctuated with bold print in black and white as well as splashes of vibrant yellow and soft peach. This collection like many of Ellery's previous work continue to introduce new proportions with new refreshing ways of styling - voluminous top with flared pants, pencil skirt over pants, bell sleeves with biased cut skirts, because why not?
We are obsessed with the extremely well tailored sleeveless shirts in pristine white and light blue that go just as well on its own paired with shorts or pants or worn under a jacket or a dress for a more tailored look.
